Itsa Monday ya’ll! And you know what that means?

Mondayitis for workers and students back in toe to uni and school - DAMN traffic.

It’s going to be a short week for me cause Imma going home! Yayerssss.. can’t wait to see my fam and friends and dog and to just chill, schweet! (and apparently lots of cleaning said mumma bear who’s not at home.. boo to cleaning!!)

There was that food tour festival thing on Saturday in Bankstown - Bankstown Bites which was quite fun and full of yummy goodness.

The four of us; (Nomz, Ly, Helena and myself) started off at Pho An to get some pho before venturing out to our food tours. It was my first time there and man, are they efficient or what?! Get seated, orders taken and not less than 5 minutes, bam bam bam, pho is served! LOL. They make some pretty nice pho and the broth was very appetising and hearty, but like a majority of people would say, nothing beats their own mumma’s pho full of love and soul. Mmmmmmm~ Good substitute when mum’s pho isn’t at my disposal… pity it’s “expensive” for pho.. haha we asians like our food CHEAP yo! And Nomz, please don’t refer to yourself as a child to the Vietnamese water at Pho An again… just pull out your English next time if you’re fumbled for words. =P

Nomz and Helena chose to go on the Blue Discovery tour (European Delights consisting of wine and cheese) whilst Ly and I split and went on the Green Discovery tour (Fresh food). The green tour was pretty mediocre methinks. First stop was at a local bakery where we got to taste test their different types of breads and cakes - meh. Next stop, lebanese grocer where we got to try their spices and hommous and pickled veggies.. I didn’t really have much as my tummy was on the verge of explosion plus I wasn’t that enticed but what was on for show. (Sorry!) Our last stop was at the newly opened Taouk King for some lebanese food and garlic sauce! GARLIC SAUCE, I demand you to drool… now! Hahaah, we all got a small platter of sausage, chicken, other grilled meats, hommous and a side of garlic sauce.. was pretty gooooood!

The tour didn’t last for long so Ly and I headed back to all the food stalls lined up and ooh-ed and ahh-ed on all the delicacies up for show and for sale of course! If I wasn’t so stuffed, I would’ve been stuffed by the end of the food strip.. golly gosh… I’m drooling thinking about it.. hahaha.

We caught up with Nomz and Helena not long after where they were totally burnt out… I accuse the alcohol! LOL… I kid I kid, Nomz had a nasty week of food poisoning so the day was quite physically demanding for her as she’s still in recovery so they both sat down and enjoyed their sugar cane juice!

The next tour I got us in was the Red Discover Tour - asian tour (and before you go on as to why the hell would we go on an Asian tour considering that we’re asians ourselves… well…. why not I say?! Well cause it was the only one I could get ticks for.. hahah) and it turned out to be the best tour of the day! For us anyway.

Nomz and Helena were going to take a rain check and hopefully just bump into Ly and I whilst we were on our red tour, and let me tell you now, the tour was THAT enticing that they kept coming back.. hahaha!! Our first stop was at the bakery where we got to eat sweet buns, spring rolls and vietnamese meat rolls, and they sure weren’t stingy on their hospitality part - boy was I impressed or what!! I was expecting bite sized pieces of bread rolls, but nopes, a hearty half or third cut of the roll was on offer… big thumbs up! The funny thing is, considering that it was an Asian tour in the Asian area of Banks, other random asians would want to get in for the action and try to scab some food too… BOO - how embarassing really… >.< Next stop, next door - asian grocers! YAYERS for fruit. We got to try tamarind, mangosteen… I repeat, MANGOSTEEN, (I love that stuff!), papaya, durian (stink bomb) and aloe vera juice. The man encompassed so much of our fobby parents in the way he spoke and his hospitality, it was rather cute. And finally, we stopped by at the noodle house where we were given a small platter of fried rice, peking duck and char siu.. If someone was to poke me at this stage, I would’ve blown up… I pretty much felt like Violet from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory when she was at her ballooning stage… you could have just rolled me back to the carpark. =P (BTW, the order of the asian tour baffles me.. fruit should have concluded the tour but whatevers) Overall, it was a lovely day, awesome weather filled with tasty delights!

The remaining of the weekend was spent having a “Chuck” marathon, some much needed exercise on Sunday morning (approx 4 km run/walk) and lounging around doing nuddah!

Again, I repeat, I can’t wait to go homeeeeeee… my daddio said he just scored a new laptop.. woot! Finally, considering that our house has been computerless for the last 8 months due to some dick raiding our house *fists in the air*.
